Your most 'pointless' upgrades?

Which upgrades have you made, but instantly regretted?

In my earlier days, I went from a Asus KV266 to a KV266A (the only difference was the chipset, made about a 2% performance increase), luckily managed to sell the old board for £5 more than I paid for the new one

More recently went from an opteron 146 to a 175 (£150 chip)

Really should have just started back on the intel route, instead of having to wait an extra year to finally do it

I upgraded from an Asus M2N-Sli to a M2N32 I think it was, cant even remember why, think I wanted another PCI port just in case as they were all full. Whatever it was it was fairly pointless.

I got a new Corsair 650 PSU to replace an Antec 500 for no apparent reason.

Creative SB Live to an Audigy...

Creatives marketing department made the Audigy sound like it was the best thing since sliced bread, when in reality it offered very little over the SB Live...

I eventually got an E-mu 1212m and this was worthwhile.
