On the longer test drive of my new (Will be on saturday - argh still 4 days :() A3 3.2 Quattro the trip was saying 29.2mpg which seemed to be pretty good.

He's got the hump becuase he is the guy who claimed to get 70mpg from an Escort diesel and nobody would believe him.

well i based it on my gallon reading which was wrong... so i revised it and still its impossible. :p

still averaging more than 57mpg though. :)

mondeo tdci has done 46-48 the last 6 weeks. Cracked the magic 50 the first few weeks I had it, and service due in jan so perhaps the air filter could do with replacing now. I do the same journey to work everyday on M42 that is usually on 50-60 speed limit. still not too bad.

I'm averaging about 42mpg from the 530d now, the foot has become more welded to the floor.
On a "run" I can get 50+ easily.

Need a new fuel pump now I think though :(

On a motorway / A road run @70MPH I can get up to 58MPG
Increasing to 80 - 85MPH it drops to about 53MPG
Driving around town / country lanes and some motorways gets me about 48MPG

Car is a BMW 120D

Are you coasting behind lorries, I never used to get that much ;)

Audi A4 1.8T Quattro
Just got back from a Brighton trip this weekend, returned about 38mpg.
Town driving usually gets me between 24-28mpg.

95 Golf Gti 16v, 170k miles.

typically its 43L to fill the tank again and it will typically do 310-320 miles per tank. last one did a touch over 350.

so typically it does 33-34mpg per tank
