Hi,

every since i have had a mobile i have never been on vodafone so what are they like ?

is the "live" service any good or not worth the looking at and what sort of reception do you get when compared to O2 which is what i am on now.

Well I've only been on vodafone and thats got to be for over 10 years now

May be a little more expensive than some but I havent had any issues with connections except in the tin shed stores (like tescos) on industrial estates etc but that could be down to the phone.

Am currently toying with changing though as the deals seem better with other companies

I'm on Vodafone PAYG, having started out on T-Mobile and used O2 for a while. O2 generally had better coverage, though I switched to Voda because O2 is useless in my accommodation in Oxford. I've found Voda quite cheap, as I get free weekend calls and texts if I spend £5 in a week, and at weekends and after 7pm I can talk for 60 minutes whilst only paying for 3. I'd say I'm pretty happy with Voda, though I don't have any experience of their customer service.

I've been with T-Mobile, Orange and Vodafone. Vodafone has the best customer service in my experience, but may be a little dearer. I've had a few broken phones and they've always replaced them next day. I'm always threatening to leave to get a better deal but I never would. :D

I was with Vodaphone untill last year, went for an upgrade over the phone due to the fact that my 750i packed in for umpteenth time. I went for a K800i and the cheeky sods gave me a reconditioned unit and a 18 Month contract even tho i specified a 12 month. After speaking to them i got nowhere so i cancelled, they wouldn't gice me a PAC no tho. Best thing about Voda tho is Passport, my bill have doubled since going to O2 when i go abroad.

I was on Voda for a long time. Generally didn't have any concerns with them. They were a little more expensive than others but the service was fine. I only left them because the upgrade they offered me was worse than I could get with a new contract elsewhere.

But, they took ages to send me a PAC code and I had to keep chasing. I was less than impressed by that as it felt like they were deliberately making it difficult?

well thanks for all your replies i think one thing that puts me off voda is that i have heard that the plague there phone with voda software and that sometimes this makes the phone worse so whats your views on this.

as i said above i am on o2 at the moment and there phones have always been good as they just tend to add start up screens and that about it so its more or less as it comes from the manufacture.

also have any of you used the "live" ?

vodafone are launching a lot of new tariffs and extras in the coming weeks, which will basically put them back on par with the competitors. because theyve been behind for a while.

Im very anti-vodafone. the customer service is really bad. i would know because i work in one of their call centres on service management.

but the tariffs are looking pretty good in all fairness.

If your due to upgrade in january, 99% you'll have to pay an upgrade fee. you are able to talk your way into getting it cut. but you'll have to pay an upgrade fee of somesort

Vodafone Live is normally rated as the best mobile internet portal out of all the networks normally, but recently seems to be having problems when I try to buy tracks or something.

Any revisions of data rates?

theres a data bundle for £7.50 which is for 120mb i think cant remember the exact mb's

and theres a daily package which you dont sign up for. its something like £1 for the first 1mb, then you get 20mb's free.

i cant remember the exact numbers at the moment its been a long day. ill get back to this with correct information

The packages and £1 daily packages are rubbish as they don't include open data.

They'd be fine if they included all protocols.
