Hello,

As a 1 1/2 year member of staff at Halfords, i find myself serving a lot of people, and often, serving people and letting them down, i.e. we cant help them, or we dont have something etc. I was wondering what the national consensus was on the store?

I find some of the protocol quite enraging (i cant mix a can of paint if im the only guy on the parts desk) but at the end of the day, im using my relatively basic general knowledge of cars to help people who really dont have a clue! As a PC user, i find that stores like ** ***** are incredibly pointless and offer no real service to people who actually need help, and i compare Halfords to the motor industry in a similar way.

Sometimes i dont like the idea that people think im a dead-end retard cos i work there, but due to some people who really dont have a clue, and are dead-end retards, we all get tarnished with the same brush!

Anyway, what do you guys think? Is Halfords a quality car parts and accesories store, or is it a '** *****'?

NO COMPETITORS.

Gilly.

Sorry mate your an Overclocker so your fine by me but the one word that springs to mind is Tacky.

Its ok mate, its just a job. At the end of the day, i hope that i have done my best to help people, and like jonneh said, we have to make do with what we have (in terms of having to tell people to wait until our next delivery.)

Management doesnt help either. I distinctly get the impression that its profit before service. If i try to sell a cheaper (but sometimes better) product, and my manager intervenes, he will almost always refer the customer to a more expensive product.

Judging from what i have gathered, people are sometimes put off by the staff. Remember that half of us are just like you, and wouldnt like to pay that price... Nevermind, ill hopfully be leaving soon, and moving on to better things! Then i can complain about how **** Halfords is!

- and sorry about mentioning the competitor, it slipped my mind.

Yeah, we do stock some HB4's, the guy should know that.. Its the one with the wire leading off it iirc... nevermind, you should pop into the Halfords in Banbury and ill help you out!!
