I know that this sounds silly but I dont mind paying a little extra for a Digital Download as I dont have to go out just to purchase the game, which means that I dont have to waste petrol and pay for parking, or pay postage if I order online.

I think digital downloads are the future of gaming as can be seen with places like Game where the PC section is so small you blink and miss it.

I voted buy game and get it shipped because I'm on 2mb ADSL :( most new games would take forever to download.

Also most of the time it's cheaper to get it delivered than it is to download (unless steam etc have a sale on)

Also, this.

My net sucks.

to avoid confusion, we are already cheaper than digital download
you would get your codes straight away. its basically the same as steam but cheaper.

I voted buy retail as my internet is has a monthly usage limit and games these days are getting just getting larger.

One thing that would be nice is to sell the activation key & post the game this would give me the option of preloading the game or waiting for it to arrive in the post, this way i can control my download limit also many gamers like to have the box/cd

Sign me up for option 3 as well please - would definitely buy from you guys if it was cheaper, got the code, and then the box followed later. I get what you are saying on the price, but TBH steam sales mean that I will wait for them, rather than buy at OcUK unless I am getting something different (ie. the box.)

Code sent via email, plus a confirmation of the physical copy being sent in the post later.

But maybe giving the option for the code only, or for both physical and code sent.

well the point is that if you want the box then you will get a boxed product on release day anyway using our current system

you cant play it any sooner if you get the code early, it just means that for pre orders you get it around a day before release and for existing releases, you get the game immediately rather than waiting for postie.

there is no point giving you the code then sending the box later on a pre order as you cant play the game any quicker but i guess it would ensure that you get the game on time regardless of the post service.

pros and cons each way i guess.

That's why we are asking for feedback :)

Possibly this...

But if a choice of one or the other, Steamworks key.

My point was more along the line of; If you're going to throw the boxes away, why not just post them out. I will admit I have no idea what that'd cost but seeing as an email costs nothing... ;)

agreed, an email costs nothing but postage does. many people factor postage into the deal and free postage on all games that are digitally delivered would benefit everyone, not just loyal forum members.

plus this is a service that not many retailers offer.
