your own e-commerse site

A friend wants to set up an e-commerse site and have asked me to help.
I do not want to get involved as i know i will be constantly called and harrassed every 5 minutes about what to do etc
Anyone know of any good sites i could point them in the right direction of?
They have already bought the domain name but that could be changed if necessary.

if he doesn't want to actually do the hosting and sorting out payment gateways then consider something like estore.

There are a few good companies selling estores but, have found http://www.eclipse.net.uk/ecommerce/ to be pretty good.

I have used this. I am no coder by any means, but even I managed to MOD it with some mods and patches that are freely available.

I do understand HTML, FTP etc etc.

Depends on how much they know?

OpenCart is very good and easy to set-up.

osCommerce's code is a complete nightmare.

open source and other stuff that needs thought is no good as it will always end up with me sorting it. Its for a good friend but he is clueless and i cant afford to get involved unfortunately as i dont have the time.
