I've just recieved two emails from Google to my AOL account. One of them is a security alert, in which I'm told that someone using an Iphone has attempted to access my Google account. The second one, also supposedly from Google, informs me that my account password has been changed. Can anyone tell me what this is all about? As far as I'm aware, I only have a Gmail account, and that hasn't been refernced in either of these messages:confused: Apparently my @aol.com account is in someway affiliated with a Google account, which is news to me.

You might have set up Google security alerts to go to another email address (your AOL one)?

Anyway. 2FA. Now.

Edit: Google do have an account history page which will show you where it's recently been accessed from.

I've just managed to log into it after changing the password. I must have set the account up years ago and forgot about it. Exactly why or how someone would want to access it is odd though. Anyway, I decided to delete the account:)

Should have added. I checked the history page, but it was empty. Including the field that usually indicates what kind of device has been used for access.

This thread got me thinking, just checked and my old AOL throwaway email address is still active. Guess they don't delete them after so many days of being inactive then.

Still have my @aol.com email from 2001. Keep receiving someone's Cincinnati Bell telephone bill from America on it every month too. Heh
