We normally sing it when we're having an easy time on the pitch, like Friday for example.

No place for Rocky mate, he was and always will be, a Highbury hero, but not quite good enough to make the list.

Ooof. Hard one.

Nigel Martyn

Paul Reaney Norman Hunter Jack Charlton Terry Cooper

Peter Lorimer David Batty Billy Bremner Eddie Gray

John Charles Allan Clarke

Gary Sprake
Gary McAllister
Gordon Strachan
Joe Jordan
Alan Smith

Reckon thats about it. There's more that deserve to be in and it pained me to leave some out.

True in a way, if the manager when he was around was Wenger it would have been entirely different, but he was silenced in a workman like team that Graham liked. Also if he had been injured.

But he was my first Highbury hero, and was around at the time when football started to become important to me! 85-87 ish

It's also difficult putting current players in, I'd put Pires in but he's still got time to improve! (Henry and Paddy don't need to!)

Based on personal experience only (no pre-88 players)

.................Seaman
Dixon/..O'Leary/..Adams/..Cole/
Merson.......Vieira.......Overmars
................Bergkamp
..........Wright.....Henry

Lukic
Keown
Smudger
Anelka (before he traitored, Henry for the half the price will do nicely ta)
Schwarz
Parlour
Bould

Bit top-heavy admittedly, but hey, it's a fantasy team and Vieira will just have to hold the fort in midfield on his own :)

Gold star for whoever works out what the "/" symbols are there for ;)

CB: Franz Beckenbauer (Germany, technically a Sweeper)

LM: Luis Figo (Portugal)
RM: Luis Enrique (Spain)
CM: Roy Keane (Ireland)
CM: Kenny Dalglish (Scotland)

ST: Marco van Basten (Holland)
ST: Thierry Henry (France)

Subs:
GK: Gianluca Buffon (Italy)
2. Pele (Brazil)
3. Zico (Brazil)

And when did all these players ply their trade in Scotland exactly? ;)

Someone miss the 'your team' bit? :)

I wondered if anyone would pick up on Schwarz. I put him on the bench in case (god forbid) anything should happen to Vieira, in which case we would need some hard-tackling steel in the centre of midfield, which he provides. He is also left-footed which was lacking in my squad, could slot in at left-back at a pinch. Paul Davis or Petit would be alternatives I guess. Maybe I'd go with Petit in hindsight, but there's just something I don't like about him :) I also have a softspot for Schwarz because of that last-minute freekick in the Cup winners cup against Sampdoria.

Cole I picked because of his attacking prowess and potential he has to improve.

Celtic

Coach: Jock Stein

Simpson;
Craig; Gemmel; McNeill; Clark;
Murdock; Wallace; Auld; Johnstone;
Chalmers; Lennox.

Think I've got that lineup right? It's the Lisbon Lions basically although I would probably drop Chalmers for Dalglish.

SUBS:
Larsson, Jimmy McGrory, Paul McStay, Danny McGrain.

Based on own experiences, no pre 1990 players bar Kevin Keegan :D I know of some of our old players eg Jimmy Case but I never really saw them play. I have seen enough of Keegan though for him to warrant a place :p

GK Antti Niemi

DL Wayne Bridge
DR Jason Dodd
CB Dean Richards
CB Claus Lundekvam

ML Fabrice Fernandes
MR Kevin Keegan
DM Carlton Palmer - sure laugh it up, he came to us for a season or two and did a job :p
AM Matthew Le Tissier suprisingly enough!!

FWD Iain Dowie......OOPS!!! NO WAIT!!! Alan Shearer :D
FWD James Beattie
