I can run the memory at 275mhz and it passes memtest no problems but when I run prime95 i getan error after about 20-30mins. The chip is a 3700+ SD and will definately run 250 x 11 which equals 2750mhz prime stable. If I try 275 x 10 also 2750mhz it fails prime95. I have the HTT multiplier set to x3, I'm running the memory at defualt speeds and timings (2 x 512 corsair 4400 2.5,4,4,8). The chip is at 1.46v. What do you think the problem is? What can I do to stablize the chip? Should I increase the chip voltage? The Nforce 4 voltage? Why won't this chip do 275 x 10 when it can do 250 x 11? How far should I push the voltage on the 3700+?

hope you can help

memtest is no stabiilty test with modern memory. as simple as that. it still has its uses in specific situations, but not for general stability testing.

up your vs, loosen the timings, or accept that your mem wont go past 275.

I don't want it to go past 275, I want it to run at it's stock speed which is 275mhz (550 DDR). What is the best stability test for memory?

cheers for the reply

Prime, Large FFT stable, 24-48hr. Memtest-stable is not stable at all these days, it doesent stress each chip long enough to bring out problems because of the size of memory.
