During the past three months I have experienced many issues with my pc.
During my research, I have come across this site on several occasions.
I have found the advice, reviews and help given to be the best.

I have therefore decided to ask for the benefit of your advice.

My PC is as follows:

Taken from system information

System Manufacturer Fujitsu Siemens
System Model MS-6380V3
Scaleo 600 AMD XP1700+ (830 A71197)palomino
Processor x86 Family 6 Model 6 Stepping 2
AuthenticAMD~1466 Mhz
BIOS Version/Date Award Software International, Inc.6.00 PG, 18/12/01
Total Physical Memory 2,304.00 MB
Available Physical Memory 1.67 GB
Total Virtual Memory 2.00 GB
Available Virtual Memory 1.96 GB

I can add 1 gb ram/looking for second hand
Hdd is currently 4K080H4 80GB 5400U/min Maxtor IDE UDMA100 and showing the following in 'Disk defrag':

37.3gb capacity
22.3gb Free Space
59% Free

Will run a chkdsk f - as soon as I decide on a method of backing up my files first

I have added two case fans 100mm intake at front bottom, 80mm exhaust directly under psu
Current graphics card is a GeForce2 MX/MX 400 - I have a Geforce fx5500 ready to install?

I have upgraded fsp 250w psu to a New Seasonic 300w 80+

I use the safest and *lightest* anti virus on the market

I have removed cpu heat sink and fan, Re-applied thermal paste
I have done the same with the graphics card and upgraded fan to fan and heatsink

I have reduced the temp from 45F to 37F.

Currently spent:

1.09 thermal paste
5.00 new psu
12.00 used graphics card/ contemplating selling as not sure if i need it or not

All other parts have been taken from old psu's and pc's, spliced together.
Used cooking oil for fans, tape and tie ups.

Use pc daily for 8+ hours a day.

Planning to play poker at 888.poker (very resource hungry site)but have already turned free 5.00 into 64.00

I have no/low budget.

I am in the process of (researching) making my own heat dissipators/sinks for ram memory (problem with how close the modules sit next to each other, currently three)

I have had this pc for nearly 12 years.

Any thoughts, except throw it away and buy new.......

Should I spend any more money on it?
If yes, where first?
