I know this is a bit late but what are your X1800XT 256mb clocks? I run at stock because I hate the fan noise but my accelero x2 fan thing will soon be arriving.

Ive seen websites claiming that you can put the core up to 700 and memory to 800 with the standard cooler but I tried higher and couldnt get anywhere near those. I have the sapphire card, does anyone else have an arctic cooler and what clocks are you getting?

Got the connect3d one as well, got 700/800 on stock cooler, but installed Zalman cooler to reduce temps and noise. Tried using Omega drivers to clock it higher but my machine doesnt like the omega drivers and ati tray tools, so still on official cats with atitool.

Connect 3D one and can get via overdrive 688/765 memory won't go higher without artifacting.

Any chance someone can take me through the steps of not having to use overdrive as ATI Tool and Tray tools just don't work for me (ATI Tool just crashes) and I can't get tray tools to work reliably either :(

actually yep, mine is the connect3d one aswell. I will try tray tools in a min to see what i get, should i not use the auto overclock thing?

Did you try the newest ATi Tool Beta 0.26?? Supposed to have fixed problems ocing X1*** cards. I've used it with catalyst 6.11 and so far no probs.

I thought overdrive just enables the clocks set in tray tools?

in ati tray tools theoverclocking is called ATI overdrive 3, in the omega options it says enable overdrive (which is ticked on mine) and then 54c and 594mhz

im going back to 6.11 cat drivers as ive just ran 3dmark 05 and got 8770 instead of the 9370 i used to get

Yeah the latest 0.26 ATI Tool, just hardlocks the PC when its run

In the past i have tried Omega Drivers + ATI Tray tools, but when trying to overclock even a small amount the output from the card would stop, or the machine would lock up. Using ATItool with Omegas would cause corruption as soon as ATItool was started. So far ATI Cat 6.12 with ATITool is stable at 700/800, but cant go any higher as CCC prevents it going any higher
Going to try latest omegas with ATItool tonight and see what i get.

Yeh, I get the same sort of thing but I think I'm just being a tad too conservative the voltages, I haven't fiddled with it that much tho tbh.

I have no idea what to set the core and memory voltages to.....

Well the accelero X2 cooler came and its loads better. before on stock it sat idle at 55c. Now with core on 700mhz and memory on 800mhz it idles at 52c :) and thats quite a beefy overclock

Best of all it doesnt sound like there a hoover in my computer when playing games. Im pretty crap with installing fans n stuff and it was easy to install.

everyone needs one on their X1xxx card

What voltages have you set for those clocks?

yeh possibly. follow the X1X00 clocking thread which is stickied for a guide on voltages/clocks

I raised my X1800XT 256MB voltage slightly and can run a core clock of 740 roughly
