Panting like a fiend
Hi

I'm looking at getting a new digital camera in the 100-150 range (although i can go a bit higher).
It should be easy to use (or relatively easy;)).
Have an optical zoom
Be at least 3mp preferably 4+
Use standard batteries - not a proprietry battery pack

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm looking at the
Samsung Digimax A7 7MP (£165)
Samsung Digimax A50 5.0MP Digital Camera (£100)
Canon 520 (140)
CANON PowerShot A530 (145)
Fuji FinePix A500 5.1MP Digital Camera (130 - with a 64mb card)

Thanks :)

that decides it, the a610 :)
i've been pleased with my A60 for the last couple of years, so if the 610 is anything like it :D

1gb, given the 512mb cards were only about a 6-7 less I thought i'd get the 1gb card (i think it should work ok from what i've read).

Just a quick reply :)

Got the 610 this morning, and whilst I haven't had much time to play with it yet, so far i'm impressed.
It's faster than the A60 (by a mile), seems to have a nice picture (although i've only taken indoor shots), and thanks to the adjustable angle of the display i'm managing to get some suprise shots of the mutt (mum's wanted a nice big picture of him for a while, so i'm trying to get one when he's not always looking at the camera).

Von, aye, that's the idea :)
They are safer on the memory card than on my PC (although i do back up from camera to PC, then to DVDR on a regular basis).
