Does anyone get problems with some youtube videos only coming from one channel? the front left.

80% of videos appear fine but around 20% is just front left audio only.

I also noticed in the 5.1 sound tests that you play in a browser all the channels are totally messed up when I play them but when I do the 5.1 test built into windows or the one built into SB-Z control panel the sound is fine and each speaker is correct.

is it youtubes fault?

even AC5.1 video play fine locally it just seems to be content played in a browser but I can't for the life of me come up with a logical explanation as to why?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XZklKaQhi8 <=- left channel only for me on this video but for everyone else I'm assuming it's fine?

all my sound settings are fine, The the cable from my sound card to my speakers does have a broken wire inside it somewhere and occasionally if I knock the wire the sound will go dead quiet one one side or no sound at all from any channels but I simply knock the wire again and all channels are back on.

I don't see how this would only effect youtube videos anyway

For example
https://www2.iis.fraunhofer.de/AAC/multichannel.html
for me I get

Front left = front left,
front right = centre speaker
rear right & rear left = front right speaker

like WTF men? how can they come from the wrong speakers if the 5.1 test built into windows is fine and the 5.1 test on my soundcard control panel works fine :!?!!?!?!?!!?

Yes firefox and xonar dx here and watching youtube trips out my right channel randomly and i get random static noise after moving the slider on a vid on youtube sometimes too, I have to reboot to get sound back to the right side.

Personally I think it's the Z97 chipset , are you by coincidence on z97 ?

Seems to happen to me if I drag the slider on youtube, not all the time just randomly but quit common like once twice 3 times a day sometimes.

You could try disabling html video player for youtube in your browser and or try a flash player addon to override it youtube used to use adobe flash but they have changed to html x264 right ?

z87 but not using on-board audio.
only seems to be youtube content that drops a channel and only specific videos

but as said 5.1 tests from websites are messed up too even though locally 5.1 videos play fine in full 5.1 sound.

I've had weird static twice, just seems to randomly appear and all sound has the static horrible noise like it's all muffled and messed up.

reboot and works fine again.

It's only started happening in the last 6 months or so, I'm not convinced it's a hardware error but instead some incompatibility with flash or whatever

I'm starting to wonder if it started when youtube switched to html5

I have been using flash player on youtube since yesterday not had static or loss of sound thus far so am starting to think the same am using flash video player addon by baris derin and have youtube setting to flashplayer via firefox setting you change to false.

3 days and counting i have not had the audio loss issue since swapping to flashplayer addon for youtube on firefox
