Youtube - Higher Quality

Hey all,

Okay so firstly - I hope this is the right forum, I wasn't sure where to stick this, so I appologise if it's the wrong forum

So... yesterday I was on youtube and realised that some of the latest videos that have been uploaded now have a link underneath them that allows you to watch the video in a higher quality.

Is this a new feature that has just been released or have I just missed it?
I looked on the blog but couldn't see any info about it.

Yes it is a new feature, Google store the original video you upload as well as the compressed version so they are starting to make higher quality versions availiable if the original video is of a higher quality. I think they are doing bandwidth auto detection as well to give you the best possible experiance.

Yes. YouTube have been experimenting with higher resolution videos.

That's cool, didn't know you could hack the url to do it, just noticed that some of my videos have high resolution versions availiable.
