Hey,

Over the last two or three weeks, I've noticed that when playing a youtube video, it gets to a point where it'll quite often freeze. In order to get it to continue playing, I have to alter the quality, from say 720p to 480p. Sometimes, it's necessary to repeat this more than once to be able to watch the whole video.

It doesn't always happen, but I'd probably say around fifty percent of the time. Everything else is running fine, e.g. games, websites and general browsing, etc.

Ideas? :)

@ gillywibble - already disabled. First thing I tried. Thank you for the suggestion, though. :)

@ Sliver - I only use Firefox atm, though I suppose I could try IE. :)

Probably nothing in it, but I have wondered if the motherboard software, eg. Gigabyte Easy Tune, and so forth, could be part of the problem. I installed at least a couple of pieces of software (mobo disk) when I built my new rig, but seeing as people usually tend to say the extra software isn't worth the quirks, it has now got me thinking.

@ KIA - when it froze, the reading was 0 kbs.

@ trentlad - yes, I did try it. No luck I'm afraid.

@ hyperst - yeah, I agree. I think it's more of a youtube issue than Talk Talk. Maybe something to do with youtube's recent evolution.

I've also noticed that when clicking on the video, the progress bar at the bottom will move normally (from left to right), and then all of a sudden it will have made its way to the other side way, way too quickly. That's when I know there'll be a problem. At least 1 out of 2 videos are affected.

Watched an hour long vid yesterday, and that was fine, while a little later, attempting to watch a six minute one was the opposite. Make of that what you will.

I don't know if it's related to the previous problem (which is now long gone), but does anyone get 'The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed' sometimes when watching youtube? It seems to happen to me quite a lot.

Yes, I get this quite a lot.

Have you had the issue in Mozilla Firefox where it freezes every now and again because of flash?

Yes. It seems to do it less often than before, though. I'm assuming for the moment that it's either a Firefox or Flash player issue, not video driver.

Anyone getting videos stop playing after say a few minutes, then cutting to an advert? I have to refresh / restart the video so I can watch it fully from start to end. Right pain in the bloody arse.
