Is anyone else here having problems with youtube? Since yesterday videos are having problems streaming. If I watche a video in firefox the video will just stop then return right to the beginning. In IE7 the video will just hang for a second or two then carry on playing. Is the problem with the youtube network or is it my OS?

i'd say its your internet providers problem, who you with? virgin media by any chance? if so i've had loads of problems as have many other members here with sites like ebay, youtube and playing games online. You get any other problems?

I'm with TalkTalk DSL 4mb. Haven't had any probs playing CS. As I said it's just youtube and the hangs are real irritation and making watching videos extremely difficult. They also seem to becoming more frequent.

Do you think it's possible ISP's are tampering with the streams from these sites to discourage people from watching them and thereby saving themselves bandwith?

Update on this.

I've tried changing my firewall from zone alarm pro to comodo temporarily. The youtube problem hasn't been solved though now when the videos stop they don't return to the beginning making it easier to view them. So that means a sercurity setting in zone alarm is doing something to firefox to make the videos return to the beginning. Also the videos don't plat auotmaticaly when the page loads. Does anyone know what setting in zone alarm could be doing this?

PS This is only happening in Firefox not IE7.

If it works in IE, it sounds like a problem with Firefox and/or Flash rather than your OS, Youtube or your ISP.
Are you running the latest version of both Fx and Flash?

It's not a problem with firefox because since i've got rid of zone alarm playback in firefox is exactly the same as IE7.
