YouTube Premium

i like it but it follows a very familiar pattern, play one song and the next ten to 15 will be almost the same list each time.

I'm a very light user so not put a lot of effort into customisation and the kids play their music also so i guess on that front the fact it sticks to the genra is probably a good thing
I have found one major annoyance: podcasts. Spotify handles them better. I could love with a slightly inferior UI....but I've also noticed that it's not updating one of my favourite Podcasts (Smith & Sniff). So I'll have to either listen to that through Spotify still, or listen to the podcast via Youtube, and I don't know how well that works in the car. Google always seem to get something wrong.

Back to normal YT as of today. Downloaded Brave browser on IOS, that seems to be keeping me ad-free so far and seems to follow app-style layout quite well for web based version. I just can’t justify that monthly price for my usage.

Edit: Also realised with my premium gone and now im using browser on mobile. I’ve now deleted the YT app and thats the final google app deleted from my phone, silver linings and all that. Haha.

The ghostery chrome plugin stops YT ads, and it seems youtube music still works ad-free even though I'm no longer paying for it?

No car app though, only through the phone or website

I'm bluetoothing the phone to the car and have all the music? bit weird

So I've had my payment taken this month in Indian Rupee, I had an email previously stating that I needed an Indian card and my service would terminate on the 5th December.

My Premium benefits page says that it renews on the 28th December...what do we think will happen tomorrow?

Same for me.

Same phllipines this way.

I did nearly fall over when I noticed my Turkish netflix is over £6 though !

Just checked and I received an email on 12th November saying I needed to update my payment method by 12th December 2024. I haven't done anything and my payment was taken just now in rupees on my Monzo.

I had the email in early November, then it went through for one more month but now has definitely been cancelled

I will force cancel my India sub if that's the case. I've had my notice served. I have a new destination waiting...

5 years in India for ~70 quid. Was fun whilst it lasted.

Poland seems to work well for most, not the cheapest but got family for under £10
Were you able to invite any family members?

For the life of me I couldn't get this working.

No matter what I did the family member would always get "You don't appear to be in the same country". I gave them a Polish address, used a VPN etc. Nothing worked.

In the end I just went down to a single user account.

Nevermind, just had the it will end 28th of December after my last payment the other day. Will be switching to freetube on windows/linux, been testing it anyway.

No idea on tv or mobile.... web browser on mobile I guess.

May check out Poland above.

I had the email last month saying my Argie account needed updating by the 6th December.

They’ve taken payment again today and I’ve had another email saying I’ll be cut off 2nd of Jan now!

So got a stay of execution for another month at least.

Just had my email saying it's over as of Christmas eve.

Given I only need a single I might just pay the price.. I was paying about £3.50 for India anyway.

We were already in a family from India so not had to try adding anyone.
I do use a burner account as the family host just in case it every gets banned (doubtful now but thought it best when setting up in from India)
