This program is a superb extension for Chrome browser. It lets you force HD, player size or even what Web mode you want Flash or HTML5
But its just been updated with something even cooler Speed Booster
Thought I would give this a test. Has you can see the Speed boost is unreal the video is buffered way ahead when enabled.

). Bit annoying that I need to set player size to "Medium" for the large player though, the "Large" option does nothing.
