Youtube video help

Hi guys i am trying to download some videos from my youtube account as i formatted my machine and forgot to back them up, just wanted some opinions on the best software for it. I have tried a website vixy.net i think it was but the quality was not that good at all.

Any ideas?

I generally use keepvid.com it will allow you to download the best quality available on youtube - which may not be as good quality as the original file you uploaded.

Play the video on YouTube at the quality you want, when it's finished downloading (the red bar in the progress area gets to the end) use VideoCacheView to copy the file to your Desktop say (inside the program right click on a video > copy selected files to). Make sure you don't close the tab/browser until you've saved it.

Basically flash caches the video on your computer whilst it's playing and this tool lets you grab the cached file. It works for HD stuff too and should be the same quality that you're viewing on YouTube its-self.

If i remember correctly, you should be able to go into your account settings and download the originals (or close to the original)

I may just be imagining this though.
