Gutting for the victim there.

But, why is it that people in this day and age still not realise that animals are animals. Especially those that are very much closer to wild varients and not like most domestic dogs/cats.
That is the first thing that came to mind, why does she have a chimp!!!!!??

Wow, that's crazy! Chimps can be extremely aggressive though (toward other chimps usually), it has been observed in the wild. Even though it was trusted, they probably had it a long time, it must have flipped out at something. Animals (and sometimes people!) can do this, but with a cat or most dogs it wouldn't be so horrific.

I thought chimps were like 4ft tall, 200lbs is a massive weight for that height . No person would have a chance against it unarmed.

I think I would have trouble believing someone on the other end of the line if they were saying a monkey was attacking them, you can tell he sort of doesnt believe her to start when she says chimpanzee. Must have been bloody terrifying though chimps are incredibly strong

"a female chimp, weighing a mere 135 pounds and going by the name of Suzette, checked in with a one-handed pull of 1,260 pounds, A 165-pound man, by comparison, could manage a one-handed pull of about 210 pound" jeez they really are strong

Woah, so was she exagerating then? Because the info bit says he left one woman in a critical condition, but the woman said it had killed her friend, ripped the face off and was eating them!

I can't help but laugh at the start with the "AHHHH AHHHH" in the background.

:(

'A chimpanzee is attacking your friend?' - in a lolwut tone.

'what is the monkey doing, tell me what the monkey is doing'

:o

you could survive without a face though and the woman had probably passed out from pain/shock people can bleed A LOT so she probably thought she was dead

I'm going to get slated for saying it poor training. People will say that no matter how much you train it, it's a wild animal.

But there are thousands of trained chimps that haven't ripped someone's face off. With good training, including good handling, chimp ownership is safer than say... cooking.

The difficult part is making sure the owner is competent. To own a potentially dangerous animal (including larger or more aggressive breeds of dog), you should have a licence. A licence which you can't just pay for.

Agreed, its kinda like trying to justify keeping an elephant as a pet.
