Last few days when i try to watch a video on Youtube on Firefox it freezes. This only happens when i click the maximize button to watch in full screen. The video freezes but the sound carries on and the browser does not respond. A few 5+ seconds later the video starts to move. I've disabled all pugins but still no go and this does not happen on Chrome. Anyone else had this.

That's a Flash problem, I got the freezing problem as well until Firefox introduced MSE support in 38.

On the Youtube link I linked earlier, are Media Source Extensions and MSE & H.264 ticked?

Yes MSE & H.264 are ticked but MSE & WebM VP9 has a red !, not sure if thats relevant.

That's fine, FF doesn't support that yet.

Have you also enabled the HTML5 player on that page? You can check if Youtube is using the HTML5 player when you right click a video, it should say "About HTML5" instead of "About Flash".

Yes but i also noticed that flash videos on other sites like bbc news do the same.

Sadly there's no way around that until those sites move to HTML5. The only other thing I can suggest is disable hardware acceleration in Flash and/or Firefox to see if that helps.
