Oh, hi guys!

I've been trying to track down some info about the income of some of YT's popular user channels. I was watching some vids on crazyNCman's channel for research into guns and he mentioned that he got a considerable income from his main channel. Also, there are channels like Freddiew's whose awesome videos get hits in millions. We might be producing some hard-boiled film noir viral-type videos soon so I'm wondering if it might be worth getting a channel up and running!

Does anyone know any stats? Or even have a YT account themselves making money?

I am not allowed to disclose the amount I earn, but it's enough to live in London, just.
or something very similar to this, I remember it but don't have it open.

I just watched a few of his videos - I don't really see the point in watching anything he's filmed =\

And is it a company that has hired "Charlie" to be an actor on YouTube or is just that "Charlie" has brought a camera and now randomly uploads anything and everything he does on to YouTube and now he's making money? :p

I make a pound a day, sometimes up to four, off Youtube - which isn't bad considering I do practically nothing with it and, if they're lucky, I upload something about once in a blue moon.

I'll be taking advantage of it though when I start doing things on a proper scale.

You can't jump straight into a partnered account though, to earn revenue from videos - it takes a certain level of 'interest' in your videos before Youtube will offer, or consider, an application to become a partner. Sometimes they will offer it on individual videos, though.

Davidsfarm channel made about $12,000 Canadian dollars a month (not any more though, ho ho ho) with 100,000 subscribers and about 25,000 hits per video (roughly) - and he uploads at least two or three videos a week. You have to work at it :)

I got invited to take part in the YouTube/Google AdSense thing and added advertisements to a few of my most popular videos. The advertisements have now been on my videos for a few months and I can safely say I've earnt sweet nothing so far. Obviously it's down to whether or not people are clicking the advertisements while they watch my videos which they obviously don't do.

Ideally you need to be making atleast a few videos each week with quite a lot of Subscribers who watch every one of your videos to be reeling in the money in my opinion. An example I have in my Subscriptions is Davidsfarm.

I filmed gameplay videos and stuck them on Youtube a few years ago and Youtube offered me a revenue cut - when I applied they turned down every video I put up for :p

Ohh I logged into my Adsense acount and there is £115 sitting there.

I have one vid getting 800 hits a day on average, added that to the revenue sharing scheme, along with some others :-)

Charlie signed up to youtube and made videos. Hundreds of thousands of people watch his videos... so he gets paid to make them :).

lolwut... how did you manage that?

I get around 2/3k views a week (without releasing a new video), but I thought only partners can earn money from videos?

edit: just checked insight... 35k views in the last 3 months :o

Thanks for the info on all this guys - most appreciated. I think we're going to start up a channel and see how we get on. We start filming a short viral tomorrow woop woop!

I made a vid of a pc build. It got noticed by a few manufacturers who then sponsored me for a new build (see sig) providing parts free of charge. Not exactly payment but saved me shelling out for over £2k's worth of goodies.

yeah mine is starting to do decent figures now about 10-12 thousand a week maybe more.

not got ads on yet is there special sites to help with this sort of thing ?
