youtube widescreen help

well ive got quite a few videos uploaded from a while ago but they all in wrong aspect. how to i change them to widescreen so theres no black bars at side?

ive tried and read about adding yt:stretch=4:3

but for god nor money i cant get it to work (maybe just being thick

)

where do you need to add this to your videos pls a idiot step by step guide would be helpful thanks

For starters, what aspect are your original videos in?

If its 4:3 then you will have black bars, youtube went to a wide-screen res ages ago.

You can't just "change them to widescreen". They have to be shot in widescreen from the start!

no you can change it so you dont have to upload all your videos again.

there are loads of threads but cant get to make it work.

What is the ORIGINAL aspect ratio.

You do realise you cant change a 4:3 video into a 16:9 one without severe image quality degradation and stretching?
