I recently sent back my Yuraku 24" monitor (VA Panel) to a competitor as it was flickering, this happened on both the VGA & DVI socket and via different sources (PC, laptop & PS3).

After the first test it got reported it was fully working, i asked them to retest for a bit longer as the fault is definitely there but it doesn't appear straight away, again they tested it but they found no fault despite them leaving it on for 15 hours supposively.

Since now its failed the RMA it is up to me to pay for the postage costs to get it back, but I am certain it is faulty so what can i do? Also my GF said the courier man was very rough with handling the product when picking it up, is it likely that the shock could have knocked something back into place?

I've got one of these monitors too (had it for 2/2.5 years) and mine has developed a problem in that most of the screen goes black and a row of pixels across the top of the screen about 30 pixels high seems to look grainy and slowly update one frame every couple of seconds.

I contacted Yueaku customer service (in Germany) and the actual manufacturer of the screens has gone out of business so they say that they can't honour the warranty because the manufacturer's warranty is from the original manufacturer, not Yuraku.

I'm going to contact them again today to see if they can ship me some replacement power & logic circuitry as the bloke at their end did say that if i sent it to them that they could probably repair it but obviously the shipping would kill me getting the thing to and from Germany.

I'll subscribe to this thread and drop in an update if I can fix my screen.

Just spoke to the bloke in the support centre in Germany but they don't have any stock of spare parts for this monitor so no luck there.

Unless anyone can advise of any legal routes to take to get a replacement it seems that if yours has developed a fault and it goes out of the supplier's warranty then you're a bit knackered.

Note: Just re-read your first post, mine seems to fix itself temporarily if I turn it off and hit the back of it but how long that lasts varies. Mine has probably lasted 24 hours between hits on two or three occasions. To put it into perspective though; I couldn't get it working earlier on so I had to use LogMeIn to get into my computer and type my first post using my phone, but after hitting the monitor a few times I got my screen to come on and I'm typing this properly now but I can almost guarantee that if I turn the monitor off and go to lectures for a few hours then when I come back home I'll have to spend 5 minutes turning it on and off and hitting it just to bring it back to life.

Sounds a bit like a cold solder joint or a loose connection. In the last event before scrapping the screens, it may be worth a try to cook the circuit boards for a minute or two to see if it fixes the problem. Only do this if you are out of other options.

take it back and test it again, if it still isn't working, request another RMA. Did you buy it from a shop starting with the letter S?

Got it from a competitor thats starts with A and ends with A, four letters...

They swear blind they tested it twice, once for 15 minutes, other time they left it on for several hours and nothing. They want me to pay £30 to get it shipped back so i am not sure on this at the moment, but i am certain it is faulty, well it was until they took it at least...
