Z-5500 - Static/Hissing

Hey all,

I've just come back from holiday, and it's been about two months since I last used my Z-5500s, but now there's a very loud hissing/static noise coming from them on the Direct input. The other ones are fine, but there's a hissing noise when I have these...as if the boost setting is on (which before was the only time it happened)...

Anyone else had this? Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.

Try resetting the sound card to default settings?

Did the hissing start when you first got it when you put it on boost? Ill have these speakers tommorow so i hope there ok

Before this started happening, up until max volume (way louder than you'll have it normally) it's fine and crystal, it's only when you keep turning and eventually get onto the Boost setting does it start to get a bit crackly and hissy, but that volume is really quite ridiculous and you'll not really have any use for it. (Cars that can go 160mph, but you're unlikely to do anything near that on the M25, for example, lol)
