Suddenly two favourite Steam games, Transport Fever and No Man's Sky - are crashing to desktop on Win10 x64. Both played fine for years...

No ill effects to Windows, the games just vanish. Direct 3D games seem to work ok, Prey runs fine. Those two failing games are both OpenGL so whiskers are twitching

F20 BIOS installed, can't see a later non-beta BIOS at the Gigabyte site. Tried the latest F22m BIOS but black screen in Windows, went back to F20

Otherwise can anyone recommend a similar motherboard as this is my last chance to fix this, thanks in advance

I really doubt it's your motherboard. Have you changed graphics card drivers? What updates has Windows 10 installed? Is your graphics card failing? Is your power supply failing?

try a stress test on your graphics card. Then try reinstalling your graphics drivers, clearing out all of the old stuff. Then try a Windows reinstall. Then test your PSU is OK. Many things to look at before you blindly jump on buying a new motherboard.

Thanks LePhurron. I've taken out the 1080 since, set up onboard graphics. Looks nice for a minute then- aagh same fault.

Game window simply disappears, with otherwise no ill-effects to Windows

Memtest for five hours on the Corsair memory, all checked ok. Getting close to motherboard or cpu, looking at motherboards

I very much appreciate your support mate, stressing now no favourite games :)

Yes I've done a clean Win10 install, Samsung 960 ssd, clean graphics card drivers, reinstalled the games

Recommendations from anyone on i7-6700K motherboards will be welcome

Gigabyte support answered my ticket with sensible suggestions too, is it possible to RMA a mobo and get them to look at it?
We've all been the (return it, comes back, same problem nightmare) so I'd like to short-circuit that step by substituting another
motherboard
