How is the situation with Skylake and overclocking on ITX boards these days? I remember back way in the past it was considered a bad idea, but is it really such a problem anymore? I imagine for extreme clocks you'll hit walls with fewer power phases, yes, but for clocks that don't require LN2 is there still a notable difference between ATX and ITX anymore?

depends on the motherboards really. The Maximus VIII Impact is far better than most of other boards in the market in term of overclocking. For memory overclocking it is only behind Asrock Z170M OC Formula.

that one is very good as well. The power delivery area is better than some of the mid range Z170 ATX boards. Overclocking on air, you more likely to hit the cpu's wall rather motherboard's limitation.

Sounds fair enough.

I will likely be overclocking in water though. Might go custom as well. How about then?

Guess not enough people to have many anecdotes. If the power delivery can at least deliver 5GHz under nominal voltages I'll call it as good as ATX without needing insane world record clocks :P Hoping for too much?

Looks like no real power delivery limitations then with ITX and Skylake then, unless you decide to go 5+ and LN2; which, I won't be. Things have definitely come a long way for top end ITX gaming in the past few years then!

@ZXSpectrum, how much did you clock all of those systems, I take it you built for clients?

ASRock were definitely out though. Too many stories about the bent wifi antennas. Received the Pro Gaming today so hopefully all is well!
