Z370 and Load Line Calibration / LLC

Just curious but am I right in thinking that the higher the LLC number the less the CPU volts will fluctuate ?

I only ask as I've never actually touched LLC before but noticed with my 8700K the volts wildly fluctuate above what I actually set.

Correct but dont go pushing the LLC load line calibration to the max or it will overshoot your voltage set
keep it on turbo, it will still over shoot but only by a little that way it wont droop at all.
you also get AC/DC load line calibration, same applys above.

Not always higher. Asrock for instance, LLC 1 is the highest level.
 
on my asrock I either had too much overshoot or vdroop.

But when I flashed the 1.00 bios which apparently has broken LLC it was perfect.

I have the Asrock Extreme4, running the latest 1.80 bios. My vcore is absolutely rock solid with LLC1. Doesn't fluctuate a single bit even under full stress load. Pretty impressed with it.

measured with multimeter ? :D

must admit i go by bios and software monitoring and take with a pinch of salt , least to see if its not going to melt anything haha

Even if the software monitoring isn't spot on accurate, i'd hope the numbers would still change if the voltage was fluctuating!!!
