Hi everybody,
I hope that everyone is keeping well.
I have decided to try and add a bit of RGB goodness to my build and found an addressable RGB kit with a couple of 3-pin 5V strips (admittedly not from OC, I'm afraid).
I have looked in the mobo manual and from what I can tell I have to use the D_LED1 and D_LED2 headers and also to confirm that the jumpers are set for 5V on the DLED_V_SW1/DLED_V_SW2 headers.
However, also in the manual, it states "Connect one end of the included digital LED strip adapter cable to this header and the other end to your digital LED strip. The power pin (marked with a triangle on the plug) of the LED strip must be connected to Pin 1 of the digital LED strip header. Incorrect connection may lead to the damage of the LED strip."
My question is though - do I have to use the included digital LED strip adapters? Is it really not possible to connect the LED strips directly to the mobo headers?
Do you have any other tips, guidance or gotchas that would be beneficial?
As always, many thanks,
Moley.
