The superchargers 'only' cost about £3000 brand new I think, it's not an expensive mod especially if you fit it yourself, which isn't hard from what I've seen.

That's an ESS TS2+ kit, which comes in at about £6500 exclusive of fitting.

Well unfortunately any kind of mods like that you can't expect to get your money back on, you could get a newer Alpina Z4 roadster for about the same price as that car so I don't see it as being especially cheap. Probably priced about right though, you could get a similar 2003 Z4 3.0 without a charger for about 14k so you are paying a 3-4k premium.
