Hi Guys,

I have recently installed an MSI MPG Z490 Edge into a Phanteks P400s. I have all components except a CPU cooler (Corsair H100i) which has yet to arrive.

I have installed the motherboard and plugged in the P400s wires: Fans and front panel. However when I plugged the PSU in, nothing powered up, not even the PSU fan. I have tried this with my previous build to make sure my case was working and it powered up fine as far as I can remember.

I have tested my PSU and it seems to work. Could it be that the Z490 wont power up until all components are installed?

I have the USB3, HD audio, 8 pin power, 24 pin power, Power SW, HDDLED and Reset plugged in. I have also plugged in the 2 standard case fans plugged into SYS FAN2 and 3 rather than the front panel 2 pin fan controller (see : https://i.imgur.com/Zq4njrB.jpg ). Could this be the issue?

Thanks,

Turns out that wires within the front panel were loose and required plugging in. I found this after an hour of frustration to finally completely deconstructing the case to find the front panel wires loose. All seems to turn on fine.
