I now have Z490+i9 10850k (4.9) with 2x8 3600 C18 Corsair
I was wondering what would be the chances of 4x16 4000 C18 Corsair to work right outside of the box without problems? Of course it's not on QVL list.

Does anybody have Z490 TUF with 4000 Mhz RAM or opinion?

Thanks for your time.

I know buddy, but I can get it from somebody used for a very good price, however I am not able to return it. If it doesnt work I am stuck with it.

So that's why I am asking what are the chances it will work on 4000Mhz on this board.

P. S. There are some small performance gains, especially with 1% low in fps and especially good performance gains going from 16 to 64GB.

If it doesn't work @ 4000, then you can always just run it at stock (2933). At least you'll have an upgrade from 16GB.

I believe it is possible to achieve this kind of speed with 10th gen CPUs, but since they haven't been current for a long time I can't remember the chances.

Hey @Tetras thanks for your kind opinion. I know, but then it would be a downgrade from 3600 that I have right now and if it doesn't work with 4000 I will have to do a manual overclock and tweaking which I would really like to avoid.

So that's why I am asking if anybody has a similar situation Z490 TUF + 4000 Mhz RAM.

My personal opinion is that your chances of getting 64GB of 4000 to work "out of the box" with a one click XMP and no tweaking are 50/50, at best, but hopefully you'll get some comments from other 10th gen users.

I'd take 64GB at 2933 or 3200 over 16GB at 3600. Unless you're a competitive gamer playing at 1080p, I don't think you'd notice.
