I'm currently in the process of getting a bad set of Z5400's replaced. The banging has now got to drum levels. A wiggle of the cables in the control box and it goes away. But when it kicks back in Boom!

Now I notice Logitech no longer do this model.

Anyone else replaced a set recently?

What will they offer me, repair, recon set or do you think it will be possible for me to pay a few quid extra and upgrade to the Z5500 set?

I think they'll ship your the Z5500.

Will it cost me more do you think? I've always wished I bought those in the first place. At the time I didnt have room for the larger sub.

I dont mind paying the extra just to be able to turn the power on a set of speakers without already wincing waiting for the boom.

Well when I RMA'd my speakers, Logitech payed for postage both ways, took like a month tho.

Yeah thats what put me off sending them back for so long. They are my only speakers for the 360 but I've got to the point where I really must get them back :)

They are sending me a set of Z5500's that should be here monday or tuesday!

When they mentioned sending my old set to Switzerland, I said they mentioned picking them up. Not me paying to send about 20 kilos to switzerland. At which point the women said they would be back intouch about collection, although she didnt sound convincing that they even cared about getting them back.

They offered me Z5450's which I turned down due to the wireless rear speakers.

A UPS Van came to pick my broken Z5500 up which was shipped to somewere in Germany, infact my replacement set came with a German or US looking plug

She mentioned UPS delivering but did not mention them picking them up. She was under the impression I was gonna post them myself and at around what 20 kilo's plus? that aint gonna happen.

I will await there mail telling me when they want to pick them up, but somehow I get the feeling they won't bother. Cheaper to write them off than pick them up as the Z5400's aren't sold anymore anyway.

New speakers came today, just spent about 2 hours trying to get them to work. Brand new set, well happy. The audio leads between the control box and PC were faulty though. I was only getting one channel from the front speakers. Plugged another set in fine.

Can't be bothered to complain as they have sent me a new set for nothing :)

I thought the sub on the 5400's was big but I now have a footrest. :D

What do you think of the Z5500? Do you find the bass allot louder than on the Z5400?

I always turn the sub right down to 1 bar. But on these I can stand more because it just seems a cleaner sound. At the minute I have just set up the front and center speakers so can't really judge whether the sound overall is better. If it is I dont think the gap is a huge as I imagined for the extra cost. If anything the sub is much better but i'm not sure the sound i'm getting out the sats is any better at all.

Very nice though for my occasional music listening on the pc and xbox. Well happy.
