Hi,

I have just plugged logitech's in, and using the cables (6 CH Direct)..

I have checked the Cables are all going to the correct speakers and the plugs between the sound card and the control unit are correct..and well seated.

Have set Windows 7 to use the Asus Xonar and set it to 5.1 and I do get sound however

1) the centre and the left rear seem to be switched (i.e test the centre and it comes out of the left rear)

2) the right rear is not doing anything..no sound ..have swapped it with one of the speakers that is working and works fine..so the speaker is not too blame..

What have i done wrong!!!...

At a guess, you have centre and sub from the soundcard plugged into rear left and right speakers. The logitech satellites aren't full range and the set has their own bass crossover frequency set so you will still get deeper sound from the sub, even though it's not plugged into the correct channel.

Cheers Uriel,

I am obv doing something very stupid here

I did have centre plugged into the rears..(forgot that the sound card was 7.1 and not 5.1) but have corrected it..but now the sides and the centre and the sub are not working..the 2 fronts work fine.

In windows it lists 5.1 as 2 sides rather then 2 rears ( and logitech plug in says rear).

So have front cable plugged into front on Sound card and the front port on the control unit / centre cable plugged into centre/sub on sound card and centre on control and finaly rear cable on control unit plugged into sides on the sound card ...

And fronts fine everything else don't .

5.1 rear outputs are the sides in a 7.1 setup.

In both Xonar control panel and windows are speakers set to 5.1?

Xonar D2x Audio Center

6 channels
pcm 44.1hz
5.1 Speakers (analog)
(test and only front 2 work)

In windows sound

Speakers (asus Xonar d2x audio Device)
5.1 surround sound

ok got it....said it was something stupid..in levels the centre / woofer and surround were all defaulted to no volume!!

changed that and tests ok...but black ops does not use surround sound...anything else stupid i missed?

nah does not seem so (audio max setting is...big speakers....amazing)...have just played a DVD and get full surround (very happy)....so will have to live without :)

Cheers for responses..
