Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 - problems

I had posted in the topic Z68 Extreme4 Gen3

Code:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18296625&page=16

Thought a new topic may be better as I am stuck and do not want to hog a popular topic with my problems

New components from overclockers -

Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

Asrock Z68 Extreme4 Gen3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX)

Connected it to a Hyper 1000 PSU, 24pin and 8 pin plugged in

CPU cooler on

Not used a GFX card or hard drive yet

Mouse - USB Razer Krait
Keyboard - USB Microsoft natural ergonomic 4000

Keyboard and mouse are recognised in the first boot screen

If it does boot, sometimes I can press the delete key to carry on, then it freezes on the BIOS screen or the mouse will work then freeze

Cleared cmos several times

Tried RAM in different slots

Noticed it hang on these errors 19 and 60, 62

Just managed to press delete on the first screen to go to the bios page and it gave a blank screen with B6 in the corner

Any help will be gratefully recieved

-------------------------------------------------------

edit - Put stock CPU cooler on, reset cmos, reseated RAM

No keyboard or mouse working, seems a common problem

Getting error 19

-------------------------------------------------------

edit - looking round the net seems people get problems with the keyboard not recognised

Tried all USB ports

USB to PS2 connector was an idea?

On another PC forum with an ASRock tech help they advise updating the bios, I can not access it

Searching the net it seems a lot of people have this problem with keyboards

I can not access the bios to enable that or make any changes as the keyboard are not recognised

Have a drive connected

SSD is next on my list to buy

Legacy usb 2.0 is enabled by default(I think) so even after a bios clear and plugging the KB to usb 2.0 port it doesn't work, I am out of ideas :( sorry!

I built a system on this board last nite, had issues with devices plugged into the usb3.0 ports until I changed the legacy options in the bios. Used a bog standard dell usb keyboard for the install, didnt have any issues picking it up at all.

Thanks, I will order one of these and hope

usb to ps2 adaptor is in the post

Just rebuilding my Extreme 4 Gen 3 today & found out it will not work with a PS2 mouse, have four in my spares box & NOT one will work with the board, board won't even boot.

But, but trying several usb mice, Logitech,Deathadder, etc, the board perfoms flawlessly, loads windows in seconds.

Thanks for telling me, I am awaiting 2 keyboard's to see if it helps

ASRock have yet to reply to me

Do not want to be stuck with a board that will not work

Should the Intel Z68 [V8] be really hot?

i wouldn't be too worried about the southbridge heatsink getting hot, unless its really too hot to touch.
