I'm trying to work out if its a ram or motherboard problem still.

The computer boots fine if the dual chan ram is in slots 1 and 3. (so they are booting in single chan)

However if I put them in dual chan mode (1 and 2) or (3 and 4) it wont boot at all - wont get to bios... 5 seconds of whiring then restarting and does this looped.

I've tested each stick of ram single chan and no errors... I obviously cant check them in dual chan as I can get to bios or anything..

Is testing them in single chan alone enough proof that its the mobo at fault?

A few things to try,

• BIOS update (easy to do via Qflash)
• Flash the backup so its the same as the main BIOS.
• ClearCMOS
• Check for damaged socket pins
• Check the board PCB isnt being "warped" by over tightening the screws or aftermarket cooler etc
• The dimm slots are clear of any dust/debris

Those are just a few ideas.

Bios is the latest, not sure what you mean with flashing the backup? cleared cmos.. haven't checked the socket but that will be the final step before i send it off... to check overtightening - can I just loosen off the skrews of my h50 cooler or will i have to remove and repaste ? dimms are clean

If when you power on, press ALT+F10 (in different combinations, cant remember exactly) the flash backup BIOS screen should pop up.

I read somewhere that it can help with dualBIOS errors.

It may not help at all, but it's something to try.
