Hello, I bought a z77-gd65 from overclockers 2 weeks ago, it was a dud (as seen in the thread I posted http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18400173

After sending it back to OCUK, and finally getting a replacement this afternoon, I set it up in preperation for playing Diablo all night.

Well thats not going to happen now.

Booted, installed windows 7 professional, but the ethernet does not work.

I've tried updating the bios to the most recent version (the bios versions mention some LAN stuff thought it would work). Which took me a good hour to figure out.

Tried the most recent drivers.

The ethernet controller is in device manager but it displays an error code " This device will not start. (Code 10)," There is no green light.

I am at a loss as to what to do and I am incredibly frustrated and angry at what seems to be utter incompetence by MSI, I will never buy another of there products.

The only thing I can think of left, is perhaps windows needs updating, the windows 7 prof disk I have is very very old.

I cannot believe I'm going to have to RMA this same damn motherboard again. Does MSI have no quality control at all?

I'd try downloading new drivers from another source than you already have, apart from that reinstalling Windows but sounds like you've had a bad time with them :( definitely RMA time to be honest.

Tried the drivers on the drive CD and from intel's website, same result.

Via google, I've managed to find 3 people with the same problem, none of whom seemed to find a solution.

Sounds like really bad luck.

I would post in the customer service section, you don't want to be waiting another two weeks for a replacement, 3rd time lucky or buy a different brand.

Definitely agree with this. Although I have never had an issue with my MSI graphics card, I have heard more bad things about their motherboards than good things.
