Hi guys, currently speccing myself a new system but i'm stumped on motherboard choice. Given what's currently available, have narrowed it down to a handful but can't decide which to go for. Will be using a i7 3770k along with a Corsair H100i once released :c)

Gigabyte Z77X-UP7
msi z77 mpower
Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H WiFi
Asus Z77 Maximus V Gene
Asus Z77 Maximus V Formula
ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE

Now I gather that the UP7 prolly tops but it's almost twice the price of the others, so wondering if it's really worth it for perhaps a higher/stable OC. So any help to make up my mind would be appreciated :D Thanks

I would recommend the Maximus v Gene since i have one lol, absolutely stonkingly good board. Overclocks like a beast with plenty of features and as an added bonus it, the board itself actually lights up! It's amazing just to look at.

what are these powerstages?

Its part of the Ultra Durable 5 specs - http://uk.gigabyte.com/MicroSite/312/ud5.html

Any Gigabyte boards with "UP" in the name has them. Instead of multiple IC's the powerstage has everything in a single package.

The UP7 for example has 37 of them (32 CPU phases, 3 Intel® HD Graphics, 2 VTT phases)

It seems they help reduce the Vcore needed,

And I noticed it to,
