Trying to work out the best way to setup offsets and lower Vcore at idle.
Currently running at 4.3ghz more or less auto except for ram at 1866mhz.
Vcore on auto is 1.164v under stress with temps low to mid 60`s but if i try 4.4ghz auto boosts the vcore way too much around 1.35v and temps suffer obviously.

I can run 4.5ghz at 1.26v with LLC at medium but would like lower volts clocks at idle etc.
Not used to the offsets and the way the i5`s run, can anyone explain how to get say 4.5ghz @1.26v but make it down clock volts at idle like setting auto does.

Thanks.

you can try medium llc cpu voltage on normal and dvid +0.030v to start with then if its stable enough try to see how much the cpu v is at load in cpu-z while stressing the cpu

then add more or use less if needed untill it gives you 1.26v at load

enable all power saving and intel speedstep in the bios

So i need to set a low voltage that it down clocks too which at the mo is currently .9v i think then adjust the offset to bump it up to 1.26?

if you set cpu voltage to normal,it uses the stock cpu voltage for the chip

then you add extra volatge that gets applied at load in dvid + is to add so +0.030v will be .0300v thats before the llc (medium) adds some more voltage

its a bit trial and error as each cpu will be different so start low and add one click at a time untill your fairly stable and then fine tune the dvid untill your fully stable

just be carefull not to overvolt your cpu and makesure the first two digits in dvid are 0.0

forgot to say that each llc level will add more cpu voltage so you need to find a balance of llc and dvid that = to 1.26v full load

I think i get the general idea now, as well as having power savings on is Turbo boost better on or off.

i leave it on,it doesnt affect anything aslong as you set the cpu multi to 45x

set pwm phase control to extreme and cpu voltage response to fast aswell for 4.5ghz

you can either try high llc and +0.020v dvid or medium llc and +0.030v dvid

if you use a higher llc use less dvid and vice versa

You were spot on with +.0030v seems to be doing what i need it to do, just need to make sure its stable now.
