i have kingston hyper blu and teh gigabyte memory is on the memory list from giga byte...i am struggling to work out how to set the timings on this board...my memory says it should run at 9 9 9 24....but its running at 9 11 11 29...ive had a look in the bios for xmp profile which i usually use but cant find it....anyone have any ideas where i am going wrong...thanks.

ok so if i run at 1600 the timings are 9 11 11 29......now if i run it at 1333 i get the 9 9 9 24....is this normal .

I'm not at my PC right now, but there is an enable XMP profile option in the BIOS somewhere. I think it comes up on the first screen you come to, for me.

ive looked for it cant find it lol need to go to specsavers i think.....ive tried on classic view and dash board view.....when you get home have a look and point me in the right direction please....thanks

ahhhh so the motherboard adjusts your timings auto to get the best out of the memory...so running memory at 1600 is overclocked so the timings will be altered to compensate....am i on the right track....
this is the memory i am using 32 gb of

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-121-KS

so i am running at 1333 on 1.5v with timings of 9 9 9 24

so to run at 1600 i need to up the voltage to 1.65.....am i reading it right...thanks

The XMP option is under Performance->Frequency. Near the bottom of the page there should be an 'Extreme Memory Profile' option. If your RAM has an XMP profile, you should be able to select it there (it will probably just be called Profile 1). If there is no option, you'll have to adjust it manually.

thanks found it at last lol but its greyed out and disabled so that means i have to set it up manual....im just worried about voltages ive not used before ...my memory says 1.65v for 1600....does that sound about right?

Yeah, that sounds fine. Most memory seems to operate at 1.5-1.65v these days. Set it as it says in the OcUK description: 1600mhz, 10-10-10, at 1.65v.

ill go have another look....so i change the timings manual aswell?

ive done it i think lol says its 10 10 10 27 now at 1600....voltage is 1.644 which is close to 1.65 lol
thanks for your help Fulax....i can now move onto overclocking my cpu next when my new cooler arrives ....if i over clock cpu do i need to change memory timings as well?
