Hi guys,

I am going to be upgrading to a haswell i7 4770k at the end of the month, so far the Z87X-UD4H looks pretty good.

I'd like to know how easy it is to get a stable 4.5 please?

I saw one of the reviews made a few comments about a preset overclock in the bios, reaching 4.5 without issues, has anyone who owns one tried this?

Any thoughts/feedback on this board would be greatly appreciated or should I consider others?

I'd like to stick with gigabyte as the support in the past with them has been amazing.

many thanks,

Have you installed the Gigabyte apps? One of them, EZTune, runs from windows, I haven't had a chance to play in BIOS yet.

I've got a UD5H Z87 and used the 'auto' setting from EZTune and it's given me OC of 4.6Gz.

As above, the Easytune software works, or doing the overclock yourself is simple enough too.

I've just got the Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H as we speak, nearly went for the Gigabyte Z87X-OC, but I don't think you will go wrong with either board.

I'll see how I get on and report back either in this thread, or a new one.

I might have a okay 4770K CPU, batch number L312B364, I googled it and someone clocked theirs to stable at 4.4 on 1.155 volts, using the Gigabyte Z87X-OC >> http://forums.guru3d.com/showpost.php?p=4615306&postcount=127

i have the UD4 with 4770k and using eztune got it to 4.5 easily. literally one click then reboot. From memory the vcore was at like 1.3v or thereabouts. It worked perfectly fine but of course temps climbed.
I'm keeping mine at stock though as i dont have the need to overclock. for my primary use which is gaming, im running everything on full(or ultra where available) in 1080p with my GB 7950 3x. It also runs nice and cool with my fan setup.
