Zalman 9500- Does the Heatpipe Liquid Performance Decline Over Time?

Reason for my question is I have 2 x 9500 on both a Q9450 & QX6850. Both idle around 55-59C in these current warm temps and to me it seems very high. I have reseated, cleaned then re-applied Artic Silver5 then Artic Ceramique. Both cases are well ventilated with 4 case fans and chipset (X48 + P35) temps around the 48-60C range (depending on loads/air temps).

I am wondering does the Zalman 9500 lack performance to cope with Quad Cores or is it something to do with the actual heatpipe liquid losing performance over time (one 9500 is 2 years old the other 1 year).

I know I can get a better performing HSF but am reluctant to do this as Nehalem will most probably need a new design so would not be able to carry it over and it would be ££ down the drain.

Anyone else have any experience with degradation over time?
