Have bought one of these and seem to be getting high temps.
Not sure if it is a mounting problem as the heatpipes are cold to touch and the rest of the cooler is cold aswell, thought they would be hot or at least warm.
Getting temps of 56 idle with case closed and 43 side panel off.
With the side on the temps go into 70s, this cant be right.
I have mounted this 3 times now, still the same, I also noticed even with the clip done up with both screws fully tight, you can still move the cooler from side to side a little, maybee the clip is the problem.
If people who have these coolers could check to see if they move or not and that the heatpipes are hot to touch.
Case if Lian-Li 6089, cpu [email protected]
Thanks for any help

Forgot to even though a high overclock only using 1.350v in bios, but with vdroop its 1.3v

Before switching to water-cooling I used the zalman 9700 (same bottom and pipes as the 9500 except for bigger copper heatfin bit with an 11cm fan in it) and it still swivelled round when fully tightened. Temps weren't fantastic in a well ventilated pc7.

Yeh, it does still swivel around when screwed down. The retaining bracket seems to become flexible after you've taken it off a couple of times. What i'll do if i ever remove it again is put washers underneath the metal bracket, meaning i have to push down more to screw it down, meaning a tighter seal. (i.e. a washer underneath the central hole, so it's higher up from the screw holes either side).

Saying that, i get 33C idle with 3.37Ghz OC. If i took it off again however, i doubt the screw heads would have any purchase left.

The 9500 is a bit pants, the 9700 is great and there's every review on the planet to prove it.

you have to remember that the 9500 is for the old cpus its not really for modern quads be it high clocking or default
