Can anyone share their experience with this one on 1155 chips?

I've read that the performance is there, but also it is quite noisy...

Thanks!

I would like to hit 4.5-4.6GHz on 2500K without going too hot.
Other alternative Im looking at is CM Hyper 212+ but its OoS at OC atm

I'd say about 30-35quid max. The less the better, but Id rather spend a bit extra to get the o/c and keep it cool.

Titan Fenrir Evo - this one wouldn't be as quite as the other three

You could obviously spend less if you shop around or decide to get something cheaper. Coolermaster Hyper 212+ is a very good cooler for the price, I managed to get one for £16 and it's pretty much unbeatable at that price point :)

gelid tranquillo and corsair A50 are the popular choices around the £25 mark. you'll easily get to 4.6Ghz with them

I think that's a good advice, if a need arises, you'll probably want to upgrade to something bulkier and that will cost you £45+ including fans meaning that spending £35 on a cooler that isn't going to be a total high-end is obsolete.

I remember that Gelid Tranquillo used to be sub £25 and Corsair A50 was around £35. Gotta keep me up to date on prices :)

This didn't help a lot ;) Im getting more confused lol...

Is there any point on spending extra 10 quid if the 212+ does the job well?
I could only pay extra if something else was as efficient but a bit more quiet as well...

zalman CNPS9900 MAX is on offer this week at £35.99

i'm getting one simply because its the best cooler i could find that was less than 153mm tall, but it might be in your price range now

I've got a flex on the older i5, 1156, it performs well, similar to fenir evo, also you have the option for a push+pull config.
