Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower Cooler Problems

I have a DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ultra-D

i undid the screws on the bracket to put the heatsink on,
and then put the little metal cylinders (metal cylinders to raise the bracket to the coolers level).
Put the bottom plate in place, but the screws they provided (gold ones) dont reach through to the cylinders
before i send it back
am i doing something wrong? or missing some parts?

I used the standard retention bracket underneath, then screwed it through the cross bar, I don't remember using any stand offs.

strange, my fan was too high off the baord so i had to use the little stand off to bring the bracket up to the fans level
