Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower (Socket 939/754/478/775) CPU Cooler (HS-015-ZA)
I was thinking of using this on a Opty 165, anyone tried this and seen a noticable difference?
or are there better ones out there for similar ammount of money

I've got one and its brilliant. At 5v its silent, at 12v its a gentle whoosh, but at both 5v and 12v the cooling power is phenomenal.

I had a 9500 and after a while the base warped and my temps went up.

I have an Si120 now and have no complaints.

It keeps by opti 170 @2.8 between 33-43C

Amazing cooler. Best air P4 cooler IMO. Keeps one of the hotest intels ever 3.8Ghz CPU up to 15C cooler than the Thermalright XP90C and thats only on the low RPM setting which is almost silent. Should be even better for an AMD CPU.

Weight is also an issue as it is only 530g all in so very lightweight. The thermalright XP90 + 120 are almost double this with a decent fan.

Only downside to it is that you need to ensure your cases rear exhaust grills are in the path of the 9500 so it can blast the hot air directly out these vents to further lower mobo temps otherwise the warm air may recirculate.
