Hi,

I am very interested in teh Zalman GT1000 case.

Does anyone here have one and more importantly, if you do, can you prephaps post a couple of photos that are not sales pictures and answer these questions?

1 - I have read there is no rails for a PSU, what PSU would you recommend I get?

2 - Is there enough space to be able to install a full length graphics card, the case does not look that deep on the pictures with the hard drive bays?

3 - I am going the Intel Core i7 920 D0 route, will the case be suitable from a cooling point of view?

Many thanks for your time and to anyone that responds.

1. Depends on what components you're going to have there.

2. There's just enough space to cram in long cards. But if you have lot of 5.25" devices you'll be running out of space also in there. (what how far optical drive protrudes)

3. In most gaming PCs graphics card produces lot more heat than CPU so you have to take that into account.
From cooling aspect this case doesn't shine: PSU in hottest place (possible heat trap in front of it) and two tiny intake fans are good for neither cooling or noise. Also probably nearly only air getting past HDD cage is that one drawn there by lower pressure created by exhaust fans.

Really thick construction is factor which differs from other case but it doesn't change the fact that this case is really horribly priced for its size/features.

Cable management looks appalling in that case.
no its not - they are really easy to build in
heres one i did at work, it took me 30 minutes

and to the OP - YES in answer to all your questions

and i would go for a psu that suits your system

650w for 1 graphics card

750+ for 2 graphics cards

pick a good brand and you are away

Is that a Zalman GT1000?

different cases can make it difficult or easy to hide cables.

The case shown is clearly not the same as the one the user is posting about, however Im sure that a better job could be done in the zalman than in your link.

The OP did state that the length of the graphics card is an issue, as it is with every Nvidia card since the 8000 series. Hence why when looking at the photo you can clearly see why its not for him.

With regards to the first question. Buy something branded (a well known psu brand) thats 600w or more.

my apologies - the GT1000 Zmachine is also very easy to build in

the cable management is good

more to the point - it is the highest quality case i have ever seen
