Hi all

Back in 2009, I decided to put together a high end silent rig. Part of it was Zalman's LQ 1000 case (review here: https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews...an,2040-4.html). Then, about 5 years later, I "upgraded" the system by buying a used xeon processor on Ebay. Once installed, the rig (but not the case) stopped working, and it's been gathering dust ever since.

So, my question - do you think the case is still of interest to gamers, nearly 10 years later? I'm debating binning it, selling it on eBay, or selling it somewhere else where like minded people gather. I'd sell the case + whatever is in it (I can't be bother to test every item to check which one got fried -- presumably the blue ray player and power supply work 100%, not sure about RAM, video cards, and mb).

Many thanks for your advice
Alexis

Coolant would likely need changing/some of it might have evaporated by permeating tubes.
But could see it being interesting for someone tinkering with water cooled systems.
Basing on pics it should be easy to change different CPU block mountable to modern sockets into loop.

Pictures just aren't very good, so depending on airflow direction of that side fan and general airflow it might not be that good for high end PC.
PSU basically might have to suck in lots of heat from components.

That Zalman case is of a much higher quality than current Zalman kit. Heavyweight chassis I seem to remember, and if its clean and tidy, would probably be sought after.

It was a luxury case - built like a tank and dead quiet. I held on to it thinking I would use it as the base for another set up some day. But to be blunt, I don't have the time anymore, and it's been in a box for the last 5 years. I used to spend hours tinkering with my build, but those days are gone...

I've put it on eBay. If one of you is interested, it comes with a Pioneer BDR-206DBK 12x Blu-Ray Recorder, 1000W Zalman ZM1000-HP power supply, and two passively cooled Radeon HD 4850 GPUs. Also a good motherboard and lots of ram, but that might have fried.
