So I've seen a Zalman Reserator and I'm thinking of purchasing it, I can get it pretty cheap you see.

The only issue is I would like to use it along side my current watercooling setup. At the moment I'm using 1/2" ID 1/4" OD tubing and I know that the zalman is made to use it's custom tubing size which is a lot different from mine. I'm just wondering if I could buy some sort of quick disconnect that would allow me to use both the zalman along with my current setup.

Also to anyone who is already using the Zalman Reserator does it need to be plugged in?

Do you mean 1/2" ID (inside diameter) with 3/4 OD (outside diameter)?
or 1/4 ID with 1/2 OD?

I've used 3/8" tube (and clamps) with a reserator without issue, but half inch is too big.
You could get koolance QC - you buy each end separately, so can match both tubes.

Another option is replace the stock zalman barbs for larger/smaller ones - but they are not G1/4 threads
or if thin tube - just force it over the zalman barbs (dip tube in hot water first)

Zalman Reserators have a pump = need power - pluged into mains.
Only the Reserator 2 has a molex cable that attachs to the psu

Opse my bad I mean 1/2" inner Diameter and 3/4" Outer Diameter. =]

Just wondering if I could use my current Res and pumps that will go from my PC into the reserator for that extra cooling.

If you remove the pump of a zalman reserator it can be used as a passive rad (snorkel mod is a must)
But you might as well just use Cape Cora HF or Konvekt-o-Matic tubes if doing that.
Or even a roof mounted low fin count rad (running passive without fans like I do)

Think i'll just leave it then :P

Not really in the mood to take up another modding project at the moment, maybe some other time. =] Thanks for the advice though ^^
