hi has anyone used one of these? can't find many reviews on them I want to try & figure out if I get two of them I can cool
my set up quietly,

my gpu is a 5970 & CPU is a 920

I think the CPU will be fine but I don't know if it's compatable with the 5970

Try and get them second hand (£40-60 complete inc postage)
And idealy buy a replacement pump
or better yet use an external one with the snorkel mod, and 3/8 tube

The gpu block is universal - it has slots so if the mounting holes are in a square you'll be fine.
it's not the best block, but if you do upgrade the blocks you need high flow ones - no impingement plates or thin full covers blocks

no need to be a dick,

none of the reviews you so kindly posted answer the questions I
had, which is the reason I asked it here.

shadowscotland, what's a snorkel mod? from what I can see zalman use odd shaped tubing 12 x8 and I can't find any fittings which are this size, do you know if 10 x 8 compression fittings would be ok if I used a separate gpu block for my 5970?

thanks for replying,

what is this based on? have you seen some data which indicates it won't?

To be honest, this is my gut feeling. IMO you would be better off getting a 120.3 and fitting it with quiet fans. This will guarantee quiet computing.

yea i've toyed with the idea of doing this, however if i was to do an internal system i'd need to change my case as have an antec 1200 - and although i've had a look at 1200's with w/c internal it takes a bit of cutting etc which i don't fancy doing.

I figure to get a pump, res, rad's etc it'll cost £350+ -

I don't really want to put a rad on the back of it as it looks a little gash,

I appreciate the zalman's are outside but they look quite cool and is cheaper.

Just my thoughts tho, please correct me if i'm wrong

I have owned a reserator v1 and you would struggle to cool the I7 without the graphics. On top of this you have corrosion issues with it being made of ALU. Avoid like the plague.
